Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing)
Students will gain skills in a variety of styles and writing genres including articles, reviews, short and long fiction, and scriptwriting. Editing skills and techniques is a component of the training.

Advanced Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing)
Writing fiction and articles, television and film scripts, reviews, editing, running a small business, PR, self promotion, and law. Electives in writing for children, fantasy, poetry, stage, radio, history and biography.

This course provides training in the styles, techniques and conventions appropriate to the variety of writing types, giving students knowledge of the marketplace and preparing them for submission of manuscripts for publication or running small writing businesses. Many writers are self-employed or work under contract. Some may maintain employment outside of the writing industry to subsidise their writing income. Business, government departments, small or regional newspapers and magazines, television and radio stations, film production companies and theatres may employ writers.
