AC Arts entrance

Adelaide College of the Arts is a purpose-built centre for the delivery of Arts Education within South Australia, with particular emphasis on Visual and Performing Arts. It features two dedicated theatres and a unique gallery offered as premium spaces to promote these disciplines. AC Arts in Light Square formed with the amalgamation of the Central School of Art and The North Adelaide School of Contemporary Art in 2000.

The College is a campus of TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute, which forms part of a greater TAFE SA network. This network comprises three independent Institutes, two in metropolitan Adelaide (TAFE SA Adelaide North Institute and TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute), and one which covers regional South Australia (TAFE SA Regional Institute).

Combined, these Institutes are the leading and largest public providers of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in South Australia, delivering courses to an average of 80,000 students per year across more than 50 sites state wide. TAFE SA Institutes offer training across a range of activity and industry-related areas, currently covering more than 80 activity and industry areas.

TAFE SA Institutes work closely with industry to develop and update courses ensuring students are prepared for work once they graduate. AC Arts is a main contact point for the arts industry, representing arts-related course areas that are taught from within the College, from other TAFE SA Campuses or via distance education.

Most TAFE SA courses are nationally accredited, meeting the requirements of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and are delivered by one of the three TAFE SA Institutes as registered training providers established under the Training and Skills Development Act (2008).
